I am very pleased to be initiating the Workers’ Comp Prof blog. My motivation for doing so is pretty simple. I have been unable to locate certain kinds of workers’ compensation discussions anywhere and this has led me to the conclusion that I am probably not alone. In a nutshell, while I have tremendous intellectual and emotional interest in workers’ compensation issues, I have no financial interest. I am not a commercial player and feel at liberty to follow my thoughts where they lead. This is the privilege of being an academic. Law school courses in workers’ compensation are typically taught by adjuncts who understandably have very little time or responsibility to write on workers’ compensation issues. Accordingly, I think there is at times a void in abstract and reasonably disinterested thinking about workers’ compensation matters. I hope to do something about that situation.
